About Róisín and Chiara

‘Cult in the making’ surreal – sketch – comedy – duo

Róisín and Chiara's newest show 'Sex on Wheels' is a deep-dive into the cult of ‘hotness’; a joyously silly, sometimes furious and ultimately redemptive, take on an image obsessed culture which threatens to forget everything else about being human. If you missed their sold out run at the Soho Theatre they will be back with the latest incarnation soon.

These ‘improvising geniuses’ (FUNNY WOMEN) started their journey in 2010 at the London International School of Performing Arts and they have been joined in holy friendship ever since. Forming a tight duo in 2014, they now complete each other’s sentences and are planning to win a joint lifetime achievement award by the end of the century.

Róisín and Chiara made their name with a totally unique mix of characters, live music, highly precise choreographies, surreal tangents and improvised audience interactions. Joyous, delightfully daring and stupendously silly.

Vice Magazine’s ‘Duos Redefining Live Comedy’

“The Mighty Boosh on acid… unmissable ” ***** Broadway Baby

“Sensual, spiritual, baffling, staggering… hilariously unpredictable” ***** Three Weeks

“a bubbling, slightly twisted blend of the Mighty Boosh, House of Pain and James Joyce – call it stream-of-consciousness messy art-house disco hip- hop comedy… beautifully silly” **** The Sunday Times

So rarely do I see female acts that are uninhibited enough and possess the sense of ridiculousness needed to deliver a show of this kind” ***** Funny Women

Róisín and Chiara are also associate artists of award winning theatre company Teatro En Vilo. Together they wrote and devised ‘Generacion Why’ which premiered at the National Theatre of Spain last Autumn.

Listen out for Róisín and Chiara on BBC Radio 4’s ‘The Now Show’, ‘The Dream Factory’ and ‘Ankletag’. Keep an eye out for them on ITV’s ‘The Stand Up Sketch Show’, CBBC’s ‘Class Dismissed’, Channel 4’s ‘Back’ and BBC 3’s ‘Ladhood’.

Róisín and Chiara run their monthly 'Late Night Lounge' at Aces and Eights in North London; a totally unmissable comedy night with a unique party atmosphere. Recent guests include Nina Conti, Lucy Pearman, Phil Dunning, Chloe Petts, Joz Norris, Lorna Rose Treen, Lucy Hopkins, Lara Ricote, Johnny White Really Really and so many more brilliant acts.
