Joz Norris


Joz Norris is an award-winning actor, comic and writer based in London. His solo comedy shows, which have ranged from character and stand-up shows for the Edinburgh Fringe to sell-out critic’s choice theatre shows at VAULT Festival, to conceptual performance art one-offs for the Leicester Comedy Festival, have all received acclaim and accolades and he has been named as a Pick of the Fringe by the likes of the Guardian, TimeOut and the Skinny. Beyond Edinburgh, his solo shows have also played comedy and arts festivals nationwide and his latest solo show is available as a special on NextUp and Amazon Prime.

He is a frequent collaborator with several cult comedy groups, having been a key member of the Chortle Award-winning Weirdos Collective (Comedy Event of the Year, 2018), and a Board Member of the Alternative Comedy Memorial Society. He also collaborates with the award-winning Heroes of Fringe, having performed at festivals across the country and collaborated with them on the Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning art project Iraq Out & Loud in 2016.

He is a prolific actor and writer for comedy film projects for both TV and online. With Little Rock Pictures he co-wrote and starred in The Girl Whisperer, his own webseries, with Ralf Little, for which he was nominated for awards for writing and acting at film festivals worldwide. He has played roles in popular comedy series including Wild Seed Comedy’s Shambles, Dave’s The Dave Talks, ITV2’s @elevenish, BBC Three’s Quickies and Channel 4’s Hodge Podge. In 2015 he won Outstanding Supporting Actor at LA WebFest for his role in the webseries The Backbenchers, and he has appeared on BBC Radio 4 Extra’s The Comedy Club Interviews and BBC Radio 4’s Film Programme. He has made several acclaimed short films, including the horror-art-comedy The Baby, which was an Official Selection at London Short Film Festival in 2019, and recently shot his first sitcom pilot with Tiger Aspect, a collaboration with Ed Aczel entitled Ed & Joz‘s Heist Movie. He is currently working on several other scripted film and TV projects.
