About Ed
Ed MacArthur is an actor, comedian and musician. He co-wrote and starred in the smash-hit String V Spitta with Kiell Smith-Bynoe, enjoying three sellout, critically-acclaimed runs at Soho Theatre and Edinburgh Fringe (‘Ingenious’ ***** The Independent, ***** The Daily Mail, ****The Guardian, **** Chortle).
Ed is next appearing as Peter in ‘Ted Lasso’ for Apple TV, as Leslie in ‘This is How it Goes’ directed by Idris Elba for Apple Films, and as various characters in ‘Ellie & Natasia’, a sketch show for BBC2.
Recent credits include Rob in 'The Death of Bunny Munro' (Sky/Clerkenwell Films), David in ‘We Might Regret This’ (BBC/RoughCut), and Mamil in ‘Picture This’ (Amazon Feature Film). He also stars in Jamie Demetriou's Netflix Special.
Ed has a monthly residency at Crazy Coqs (Brasserie Zedel), performing his one-man musical comedy show. Previous special guests include Phil Dunster and Stevie Martin. He has two musical comedy albums on Spotify and Apple Music, and appears regularly on BBC Radio 4.
Ed’s current composing work includes the musical adaptation of ‘Cockfosters’, a word-of-mouth comedy sensation at Southwark Playhouse.
Previous acclaimed solo shows at the Fringe include cult-hits ‘Ed MacArthur: Humoresque’ and ‘Stack’ (‘madcap energy, intuitive comic timing and whip-smart script’ Fest, ‘MacArthur has talent in spades’, The Daily Telegraph, ‘Ed MacArthur has natural charm and considerable skill’, The Guardian).
